"Shell of Time" Kamigo Junior High School Memorial Room 

A memorial room was requested to regenerate the school that was closed due to the 2011 earthquake. In order to create a space surrounded by this land, the ceiling was covered with the trees obtained from the land, and books and school memorabilia were hidden between the trees. The cushion is made of rice husks collected from the land.

This school was closed by the earthquake of 2011.  But it was reborn in new as an Art center.  I made a room to leave a memory of the people here.

This room is to wrapped in the nature of this land,  The celling and walls of this room are covered with boughs and branches.

Some cushions stuffed with rice husk are placed on the floor.  All the materials are from this area.

There was complete silence all around.  I am sure you will feel as if you are in the forest.
